Guide to plucking...
Pull all flight feathers out before using machine.

1.
Commence by holding the back of the bird
Holding a wing in each hand and supporting the neck, plucking commences along the back of the bird.

2.
The breast
With legs in right hand and neck in the left, commence plucking the breast. It is essential to use this hold as it draws
the skin tightly across the breast, preventing tearing. Breast and hips can then be plucked simultaneously.

3.
The wings
Pluck the back of the wing first, then allow the bird to drop exposing the inside of the wing, which is then plucked.

4.
The legs
With body and wings now completed, commence on the legs and belly. Again holding the bird by one leg, proceed to pluck all round the leg, repeat the operation on the other leg.
Plucking is simplified by allowing the bird to swing freely.

5.
The belly
Supporting the bird in the left hand, breast uppermost, with the right hand pull both legs towards you and pluck the belly.

6.
Finishing off
A quick run over for stubs which may have been missed and the job is completed. With experience the whole job can take as little as 1½ minutes.
All plucking should be against the grain. Hold each part in turn as squarely as possible just away from the plucking plates. This allows the fan to perform its proper
function, i.e. drawing the feathers towards and into the plates.
